Steve Mini was born and raised in Mudgee in Central West of NSW. Although he always had access to farm bikes he spent more time riding his BMX at the local skate park and trails and competed in the occasional dirt jumping competition.

At age 17 recruit Mini "got sick of peddaling" and went to his local bike shop and picked up a Yamaha YZ125. After only a short time Steve had converted his BMX tricks onto his dirtbike and within a year had entered and won his first amateur FMX comp. Only a short time later Steve had turned in his tools as an apprentice plumber to chase the dream of becoming a pro FMX rider.

He then went on to spend six months in Guangzhou, China doing freestyle demos at a theme park which proved to be a great boost to his career. When he returned in 03 he spent most of the year off with injury but came back stronger On his return to OZ he was immediately picked up by the Showtime Yamaha FMX Team which he is still a member of today.

Since the beginning of his career steve's dream was to be part of the Crusty Demons Tour. This dream became a reality in 2005 when he was asked to ride in the Crusty Demons 10th Anniversary Tour. He then went on to be a full time member of the Crusty Demons and has ridden in over 7 tours worldwide. Since then, Mindog has been part of the Outback Assault Tour, India Tour, East Coast Tour,New Zealand and most recently the assault on the United Kingdom.

Although the competition scene isn't huge in Australia he has always placed top 4 in every comp he's competed in, including New Zealand X Games and Dubai X Games. He is the only Australian rider to have contested the IFMXF in Europe.

Steve is considered as one of the cleanest, most consistent riders in the sport. His huge extension on tricks and his world famous "turndown whip" are his signature trademarks.
